The 24-year-old Italian superstar, number one in the ATP rankings and the tournament draw, defeated British Cameron Norrie, 23rd in the world rankings and 18th seed, in the eighth round with a score of 6-2 7-5, in a game lasting one hour and 27 minutes.

For a place in the semi-final, the Italian will face the winner of the match between Czech Vit Kopriva (66 ATP) and Spanish wild card Rafael Jodar (42).
