Musetti, destinato a scivolare ancora più indietro nel ranking visto che a Parigi nel 2025 si era spinto fino alla semifinale, ha giocato appena 20 match in questa stagione e ha iniziato a fare i conti con gli infortuni già a Melbourne, quando fu costretto al ritiro nei quarti contro Djokovic. Il toscano era poi rientrato un mese e mezzo dopo a Indian Wells, dove era stato eliminato all'esordio, poi il ritorno in campo ad aprile ottenendo come miglior risultato i quarti a Barcellona.
