#Linux has to improve #accessiblity a lot. Consoles, installers, etc. must not be so small on bigger monitors to make it impossible for visually impaired humans to use them.

person 1: "sure!"
person 2: "i guess that's fine."
person 3: [ loudly ] "no! I dont like them. they are annoying and distract from the movie."
deaf/hh: [ gets up & leaves after a while ]
person 3: "where are you going, the movie is just starting?"

Maybe I'm crazy but I don't like when someone in a video says an explicit word without being censored, but then the captions just delete that word. No placeholder, no special characters, just blank space. I am not deaf, but I believe anyone who benefits from CC deserves the right to swear words.

Okay @ubuntu i need more than one setting for the character size in your #Accessiblity options. Large and small is not enough. And large is not so big on an 11” screen. Just saying.

I'm trying to open a new gmail account for a student.

They ask for her phone number, and then I get a QR code that sends me to her messages app.
I send the confirmation message, but it is not received.

I get a warning the google cannot send messages or call my number.

There are no alternatives to confirm her identity.

It is a regular cellphone number on a regular carrier.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

She is a blind 73 year old iPhone user. Don't mock her for needing google services.
