Back on (railway) track, on the last stage of my journey through beautiful winter landscapes.
People around me are staring at their mobile phones and follow women's "femmilen", the 50 km cross country skiing competition. That illustrates the importance of cross country skiing for Swedes very well.
My train arrived at Stockholm with a delay of about 15 min (we had left Berlin with exact this delay). I still have enough time to catch my connection train that will take me further north.
After a welcoming meeting with the editorial team and the scientific advisory board of @W_u_F and an inspiring discussion on the challenges and self-positioning of peace and conflict studies, I am on may way back home. I very much enjoy and greatly appreciate these @W_u_F events due to their welcoming, inclusive and respectful attitude which is so rare in the academic circus.

Let the journey begin! I am heading to the continent, 1500 km by train for my first meeting with the @W_u_F scientific advisory board.
This also includes leaving at -14 degrees Celsius and arriving at my final destination with spring like temperatures.
