Hey #AcaTooters, planning to build a writing community where we help each other with dissertations. As an end-stage PhD scholar, I would especially like to reach out to graduates, masters, and early stage researchers who need direction and help. Planning to mix it up with creative writing as well. Tweet back if you like the idea and would like to sign up!
Hey #AcaTooters how you be dealing with this lockdown?
Hey #AcaTooters, I know it's been long since we have all reached out to each other. Apologies. Let's all connect and discuss how to get over writer's blocks? #AcaTooters
Hey #AcaTooters, time for thread 2 in academic community, on Research Methodology. The term methodology means a theoretical exploration of your research method (RM) itself. Choosing a RM is the initial part of the research, after your topic. It is ruled not only by what you want to study, but time, resources, as well as the aspect of the topic you want to bring out. In this thread, will be doing things a bit differently, I want you guys to start it with your Qs, will respond n expand #AcaWoes
@pinankin_writes hi Pinakin, welcome to #AcaTooters :) and what degree are you enrolled in? Also will be starting a new thread tomorrow on research methodology, do join :)
Hey #AcaTooters, let's choose a topic for this week's academic thread? Also I would like more of you to join, and part of the conversation. Talk to each other without worrying what one thinks. Also suggestions to hold the thread after the ast Mental health (MH) thread #AcaWoes #AcaThreads

A lot of the #AcaTooters on the mental health (M.H) thread asked for the study I used, so I cannot upload the pdf here, but here's the name; "Depression among Indian university students and its association with
perceived university academic environment, living arrangements and
personal issues" by Deb et al (2015), Asian Journal of Psychiatry. It is a very small study, but that's the one I found based in India. If anyone finds more, please share. Also follow and interact on the M.H thread.
Dear #AcaTooters, it's the first interactive thread, and we are ready to talk about our demons, our mental health. Academia is essentially a space that makes you feel alone, you are in your room of library writing your research. If your friends aren't busy with their own thesis, they are busy with their jobs, the meetings have reduced. Your family either doesn't understand what you're doing, or expects you to be the number 1 author. The thread is going to deal with a list of Suh things #AcaWoes
@IshaKaushik haha, no no I wasn't calling you one. I just meant it's a space free for all. Well at the moment, it is going to create a singular space where you can find like-minded people, and see various scholars on the thread, follow ones you want. Now that we have some sort of community, I will start other academic threads with #AcaTooters and #AcaWoes. People on this thread know the hashtags now, and can be part of the new threads on academia and have discussions.

Manufacturing Islamophobia on WhatsApp in India

What can a study of pro-BJP WhatsApp groups tell us about the party’s culpability in rising Islamophobia?
