Hello Academic Tooters (#AcaTooters), as promised, this is my first thread for desi academics (thought not limited to) who want to connect with each other in this new space, and create a virtual support system. Please introduce yourself under here with your name, field, area of research, geographical location (optional). Once we have the thread going, I'll create a list.
Will be also holding future threads on conference, publishing, writing, and other #AcaWoes you can think of.

Manufacturing Islamophobia on WhatsApp in India

What can a study of pro-BJP WhatsApp groups tell us about the party’s culpability in rising Islamophobia?

@sbasu hi soma, thanks for joining. And woah, such a relevant research area in contemporary moment. I'm right now working on a chapter on virtual feminism modes of resistance. If you can think of any readings, please suggest.
Also any ideas of threads you would want to see here..
@Paridhigupta I will make a list of thread very soon. I think I know somebody who might be able to suggest you some papers. We can make a shared doc of readings (Guy Debord, Brian Massumi etc).
@sbasu thanks a lot, I've read Guy Debord and Massumi :) and yes, we should do that!
@Paridhigupta Haha! Ofcourse, the suggestions were not for you..But a general reading list I was thinking of making (especially for industry practitioners who are making a transition to academia).
@sbasu that's an even better idea than I imagined :)
