This afternoon at #abscicon26 we had our poster session on subNeptunes -- habitable or not. Here are a few highlights

At #abscicon26 this morning I am at the session on evolution of eukaryotes and multicellularity. I think this is a key astrobiology question. Earth got to prokaryotic life very quickly, but it took a long, long time before we got to eukaryotes, and another long time before animal life.

At #abscicon26, Jack Szostak is talking about RNA replication. The key problem is to get the error rate down, because according to Manfred Eigen's work, error rate determines the maximum length of sequence that can be transmitted reliably. Some nucleotides replicate more accurately than others
I am at #abscicon26 right now, waiting to check in before the (ridiculously early) plenary talk by Jack Szostak. The meeting is at the beautiful Monona Terrace conference and community center, overlooking Lake Monona. I won't be microblogging everything, but will do a few highlights.
