Obsidian Sync는 Cure53과 Trail of Bits 두 독립 보안 업체의 감사를 통해 API, 서버, 암호화 부분에 대한 보안 검증을 받았다. Cure53 감사에서는 4건의 낮은 우선순위 문제와 1건의 중간 우선순위 문제를 발견했으며, 모두 신속히 해결되었다. Trail of Bits 감사에서는 11건의 문제를 발견했으나 대부분 수정되었고, 일부는 서비스 운영상 이유로 남겨두었으며 관련 위험과 한계는 공개 문서에 상세히 설명되었다. 이번 감사 결과는 Obsidian Sync의 암호화 보안 강화와 투명성 제고에 기여했다.
