I used to know #LaTeX quite well, and used #AucTeX in #emacs to write my LaTeX. I've realized that since I started using #OrgMode to write documents, my needed knowledge of LaTeX has dropped about 90%!

How to set `latexmk` options using it with `AUCTEX`?

Similar question to that of How to set `latexmk` options using it with `polymode`? In order to compile a .tex file I can use C-c C-c (TeX-command-master)(https://elpa.gnu.org/packages/doc/auctex.ht...

AUCTeX, the TeX mode for Emacs, got a few patches to enhance the ConTeXt experience, see https://mailman.ntg.nl/archives/list/n[email protected]/thread/KBHWORCIXQNJSQ3KC4OF2F4EL2OROPJ6/

Thinking of revisiting and decluttering my #emacs configuration, little by little. If I carve out the time, I'd love to document the process of finding what I no longer use and tuning the what I already need. Might be fun.

I mostly use #orgmode #auctex #notmuch #ledgermode. Also do some programming in #python #bash and #c . This might be an exciting opportunity to check out what's up in the emacs world!

#Urgh Apparently, I cannot get the #FlyCheck #LanguageTool plugin for #Emacs to recognise #AucTeX. The checker only wants to work for work plain #latex mode. This is even after adding LaTeX-mode to flycheck-languagetool-active-modes...
cursed #emacs #auctex behaviour: It will generate auto files (as in, el files with lists of envs / macros provided by a sty or cls) based on what buffers you have open, even if they are entirely unrelated. That was a bit of a Heisenbug. Also, bc of the way environments are defined in llncs, TeX-auto-generate doesn't recognize them as environments, so I'll have to add them by hand somehow to get completion for C-c C-e
I just realized how many issues #auctex and #emacs were handling for me when I tried to compile one of my papers with #neovim and #vimtex. The latter are not even close to competing with the former. First #vimtex refused to run #biber via latexmk and after I switched to manually running latexmk (which ran biber without issues), vimtex kept meddling with the intermediate files breaking every second compilation or so. Restarting neovim did not help so in the end emacs had to come to the rescue...

Hey #emacs user, I need some help.

Since few days, braces are highlighted in red while I am editing some #texlatex files. Red highlighting is turned off when I save the file. I am using #doomemacs and #auctex. Does someone know how to disable this boring behaviour ?
