Last Saturday I've been to Svilupparty in Bologna to demo A Standard Deviation. I received a lot of useful feedback and I met many cool people. Thanks to the organizers for this great event. 10/10, I would go again.
Working on the #AStandardDeviation demo for Steam and thought it would be cool to end it with a teaser montage thingy that would pique the player's curiosity.

A propos, this #ScreenshotSaturday I show you the tool I sometime use to test dialogues. It has a pink background right now because I need to chroma key it for the new trailer I'm making for the new Steam page of #AStandardDeviation.
Recently I have been converting some rooms of #AStandardDeviation that had a top-down view to rooms with a side view.
Removing half of a degree of freedom (2d movement becomes 1d + 1d with gravity) eliminates the artificial difficulty that some testers found in the Tower puzzles.
But also this change reinforces the idea that the player is actually climbing the Tower rather than just moving inside its floors.
Wait, it's 2026? Anyway these past holidays I've been refining some interactions and fixing some issues that came out of some recent playtests.
A couple of those things are the items menu and radio that I retouched a bit with some new sprites and vfx.

This #ScreenshotSaturday I present the second playable character of #AStandardDeviation: Rougeanne, captain of the space-pirates.
She is playable only for a small portion of the game but hopefully her unique toolset and more combat-oriented playstyle will make up for that.
This week I've been working on some cutscenes for #AStandardDeviation.
The campfire cutscenes will provide some downtime and humour and hopefully they will spark some curiosity towards the lore of the island and of the universe of the game.
