One year since receiving an "alien" message from space, and it's finally been revealed in its #cellular #automaton glory. The interpretation game goes on, but kudos to the father-and-daughter team that made sense of it all.

More than a year after launching the multidisciplinary art project "A Sign in Space," conceived by SETI Artist in Residence Daniela De Paulis, a father-daughter team has successfully decoded the message. On June 7, 2024, De Paulis received the decoded message from the duo, who requested to remain anonymous and will be referred to as "John" and "Sarah."

OK! Wrapping it up for today - the question is:
- am I really seeing something...
- ...leading to the question if this is part of the "project"...
- ...ore are these artifacts from my FFT settings...
- or simply just pareidolia? 🙂
But all in all, haven't had that much in a puzzle for a while.

So, after looking for detectable data with lot’s of Python for some time - with no obvious result - I thought I should look more into the spectral analysis. So I got me that GNU Radio Block to read the file after after some arguing with cmake over failed dependency checks, I whipped up a very very simple GNU Radio Graph which reads from the file and dumps it with no post-processing to a FFT Waterfall Sink:
I am now staring so hard at the FFT that I start seeing figures on the sidebands 😃 Perhaps it *is* so, perhaps these are artifacts of my FFT-settings.
