I presented a Pecha Kucha presentation yesterday at #Ascilite22 on the work we have been doing to scale up our #LearningDesign practices. This is the first time I've done this format of presentation, and the timing aspect was incredibly challenging - not the length, but the auto-progression.

The response has been hugely gratifying. It's a great privilege to get a chance to present our work to an audience, and fantastic that it leads to conversations about it.

@cheryb Given recent changes of ownership and ensuing #twittermigration - I think it would be better for educators and educational institutions to consider federated solutions for text chat like Matrix: https://matrix.org/ This way individual institutions can host their own matrix servers with the ability to communicate across instances. #ascilite22

#ascilite22 As a prolific emoji user myself I loved hearing Sam Newell from Monash's research on Maximizing rapport. Apparently (according to student feedback) using (up to 3) smiley faces on an assessment helped them feel positive and confident about their learning without reducing their perception of your professionalism. :-) :-) :-)
