Are the meat sections in other #Ōtautahi supermarkets looking this dire? Eastgate has basically no red meat except four packs of 13%-fat mince and then straight to >$30kg shrinkwrapped stuff. The staff member at the deli said something about a lack of qualified butchers in Christchurch and it's likely to be like this for a while.

Today and tomorrow look dry and clear, and the maramataka indicates high energy, so what do we reckon #Ōtautahi? Good time to prune the apple and lemon trees?

Might hack back some camellia too. I don't want them forever, and I use the wood for the brazier and other bits.

Omgggg, #Ōtautahi! Pierogi Joint has a bunch of treats available for cheap through the Foodprint app.

Their pecan butter tarts are delicious, and I imagine the apple pies are too.

After recent media stories about butterfly declines in New Zealand, centred around one transect in Nelson, it's heartening to see in Stacey Lewthwaite's graphs that kahukura and monarch butterflies have not declined around Christchurch. That's in the last two decades along my 78 km of transects.
