This strikes me as a fair assessment of what life under single-party rule in Arkansas is like. It isn't pretty.

Apparently Arkansas keeps getting negative national and even international attention - this time over recent changes that relax child labor laws. Yet another reason I tell people to relocate elsewhere if at all possible. We have plenty of good folks who are trying to fight the good fight, but the fight is rigged from the outset.
Some Catholic leaders, an opinion writer from The Washington Post and The Onion weighed in on the country's changing child labor laws. Arkansas's Youth Hiring Act of 2023, which makes it easier for kids to enter the workforce, made an appearance.
Turns out that Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and an infamous former Governor from our state (Orval Faubus) used a lot of the same rhetoric about "school choice" - something to remember as school districts serving the least privileged get hurt the most. Vouchers will be the death knell for a number of districts here.
