It was started in 1983, by Queensland nurse named Helen McCue, after working with the World Health Organisation in Palestinian refugee camps.
‘I was a thirty-three year old nurse, dealing with many shattered people, as well as nurses. It was very obvious that the health workers needed help to re-establish their working lives.’
