Yesterday the better half & I were listening to #ABCNEWSRADIO when they were talking about the death of #PrunellaScales.
A reporter was telling the presenter that she would not only be remembered for #FawltyTowers but “also for her #betrayal of #QueenVictoria in the movie #LookingForVictoria.”
#ABC journo’s are getting worse #auspol.
Not knowing the difference between betrayal & #portrayal. #FFS
#ABCnewsRadio #Australia seems hellbent on driving me away with it's constant praise of #Trump.
Listening to the #ABCNewsRadio interviewing a #CNN reporter about the #NobelPeacePrize earlier this morning.
The CNN talking head kept calling it the Noble Peace Prize, then started talking about #Putin but kept leaving out the T in his name. Puin.
There really are some very stupid & uninformed #reporters out there. #auspol #USPol
I can’t listen to #ABCnewsRadio today.
It’s nothing but #Trump #NobelPeacePrize on & on & on.
Fuck me dead! #auspol
#ABCnewsRadio’s idea of insight re: the #Porepunkah shooting & the gunman on the run - talk to a former #HostageNegotiator!
WTF!? 🤔 #auspol
He could be a survivalist!
He might have a cave!
He might be ready to ambush more police!
What tosh!!! News? I don’t think so. Just speculation.
Some fantasist on #ABCNewsRadio saying #Trump is going to go hard against #Putin in #Alaska.
Who is this delusional whacko #DanielFried?
#ABCnewsRadio #Australia repeatedly playing an interview with the senior editor of #ReasonMagazine in this mornings news bulletin:
“#Trump is a shoe-in to win the #NobelPeacePrize & #Obama did nothing & only got his because he won an election.”

i've always thought palestine should be an independent state (though i've seen arguments for a single state with full citizenship for jews and palestinians), and while i still think everyone should recognize it, it's hard to see what the goal of france and the UK is other than to punish israel rather than give palestinians what they're due. starmer kind of gives the game away by saying they will hold off on recognition *unless* israel does not agree to a cease fire etc. if it's the right thing to do in the midst of an ongoing genocide, why not do it regardless?
but apart from being the right thing to do, what will it achieve? some pundit on #ABCNewsRadio just now said an independent palestinian state will 'prevent this kind of thing from happening ever again' - how? what guarantees are france or the UK making to that end? unless they're prepared to intervene militarily, it's hard to see how recognition will deter israel. we should probably do it anyway, but it risks metastasizing an already virulent and well-founded cynicism.
