Just got a cell-phone emergency alert that 911 is down/intermittent in my county, immediately followed by another alert telling me 911 is down/intermittent across the entire state of Pennsylvania. Told to use local contacts (fire/police/etc.) instead of 911 for emergencies.

EDIT: I'm tired - that's contact the local 911 office on their non-emergency lines. Thought I didn't know they *had* non-emergency lines.

Uhhh so there's a 911 outage statewide in #PA? I'm having trouble finding info online about it, but Maggie & I got the alert pushed to our phones. I'm not sure what phone number you're supposed to use when 911 is down in #Philly, is it just 311?

Update from Fairbanks 911: FNSB Emergency Alert! 9-1-1 is back up and running. Please do not call to test the system, only call if you need help. #911outage #crowdstrike

I'm sure by now everyone knows about the internet outages happening around the nation and globe but from listening to at least part of it on the scanner......

I feel like there will be changes made to the 911 system, maybe they will be forced to go back to land lines.
We lost 911 sometime last night, and a lot of departments/areas also lost the non-emergency numbers - seems at least to me there needs to be a back up to the back up.
