I'm thinking probably the boxwood shrubs in front are toast. I had to cut them back a bit severely this spring since they were really starting to encroach the front walk, and late in the summer bare brown spots started showing up that grew. Some of them seemed to have some kind of webbing on it. I looked much closer, looking for perhaps spider mites but wasn't really able to spot any, and oddly the bare spots seemed to attract bees. However, there's a pretty obvious wave of Boxwood Blight coming through the neighborhood, and I'm fairly sure mine were pretty resistant until I put too much stress on them by cutting them back more than usual.
Oh well, time to replace them with juniper? Next spring is going to be tough...
