"Lyrically, a lot of what The 4 Skins were singing about was typical of many bands from the early 80s. Unemployment and a lack of prospects for working class people. They didn’t trust politicians, they saw injustice around them, they thought dying in a war was futile, and they hated the cops. They were a bunch of yobbos who reveled in sticking two fingers up to society just as punk bands had. As The 4 Skins didn’t mince words, I think if they had been a racist band their songs would have made it patently obvious."
