First combine an account number and a company number into a single code ( =F5&C5 ) to get 15 and 13 digit numbers. Then Copy and Paste Special as Value to get the numbers and avoid cell reference issues. Cue a ton of little green "Numbers stored as text" errors.
Convert to Number as per the suggestion, everything goes into scientific notation. Format Cell > Number undoes that but also adds a 0 to the end of each 15 digit code (but not the 13?).
I'm going to go back to the original Paste Special as Value and tell it to Ignore the errors, hopefully that won't screw everything up. (It will screw everything up).
I've been working through the basic & intermediate course on #Excel in #365DataScience. It's been a mix of me half-listening at 2x speed because I've used Text to Columns a bajillion times, and me taking two pages of notes and practically making a transcript because holy crap why has no one ever told me about Index & Match.
I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just one of those things about putting some formal education on top of years of practical experience.
Picked up the 365 Data Science annual subscription before the price went over $150. Fingers crossed that this will be worth it, we'll see one way or another in a year...

I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on 365 Data Science's 66% off annual subscription, if only to give myself a framework for study and projects. Everything I've found online is positive, but the dearth of negative reviews trips a flag in my mind. (I'm the person who ignores the 5-star reviews on Amazon and goes straight to the 1-stars.) Does anyone have any thoughts?
