24 Hours of Cover-up Success!
Blocked, weaved, drawstringed and tasseled. Oh and those crabs got a decent chunk of sky, too.
Productive weekend!
#24HoCS day two has not exactly gone to plan.
Usually I just hole up in the house and undramatically rack up hours while ignoring the real world. But this time we had to go outside, got rained on a lot, and accidentally became bystanders to what I can only describe as A Stressful Public Incident.
But I've managed to finish off the body of this coverup, so there's that. It needs blocking and weaving and a drawstring but that can be a next week problem.
Now back to cross stitching those crabs!
And now I've finally got off my backside and gone upstairs to dig it out, this will be the starting point on Beachfront Home (aka Unruly Crabs).
Those three projects should keep me going, in fact this one on its own would probably fill the whole weekend given that it's way less complete than I remembered it being. Oops π

It's 24 Hours of Cross Stitch weekend and honestly I'm not going into this one feeling confident at all! Too tired, too hot, too having-a-wedding-ring-crisis, too all-round bleugh.
So I'll be joining Team Rebel for this one, I think. Here are my plans:
- 4 days instead of 3
- Multiple projects instead of my usual single-minded focus
- One of those projects is crochet (shush)

Revisiting an old cross stitch project for SCIENCE!
Almost forgot to post my final #24hocs update from this weekend. I mean, imagine! π±
So. 24 hours got me 1909 stitches, which is pretty tragic but this pattern is very bitty. Half of the A and a good start on the M, after over three years of zero progress I will take it!
We had quite a few 24h finishers, others who achieved their own smaller goals, and as ever a group of rebels doing 24 hours of...
- Coat Sewing
- Coastal Sunshine
- Crazily Spinning
- Caring (for) Snakes
This pic kind of hurts to look at, so imagine stitching on it all weekend and feel my pain π
Stopping point for day 2, finished the A minus a couple of missing colours and moved on to the first leg of the M.
Will try and get to the floss shop in the morning because those gaps are too annoying and I need to fill them in asap!
18.5 hours down, which is by far my best ever result by the end of day two. But maybe it's less "cool" and more "indicative that I truly have no life at all outside of crafting", hmm π€
Starting point on the day! I managed 8.5 of the 24 hours yesterday and have no plans to go anywhere, do anything or even get dressed today, so that should leave a nice easy Sunday! In theory, anyway.
This may be the untidiest stitching I've ever done but it looks good from a distance and that's what matters π
Absolutely no idea how I got from "let's stitch something easy with no thinking required this weekend" as of last night, to digging out this old (somewhat hated) project as my #24hocs plan, but here we are.
This is my starting point on the Gamer SAL from PixStitch that was a charity thing from 2021, honestly not sure if it's still available or not but it's pretty cool.
Spent the first of my 24 hours just prepping, getting it into the frame, manually adding 90-odd colours to Pattern Keeper. And then started hour two by doing 4 stitches then immediately frogging them.
This bodes well π
