White Mountains SOTA day 2 video now live!

This is the day we biked up White Mountain Peak, one of the 14ers in California.
Got my first 14er this weekend!
⚠️ SAR ALERT ⚠️
Alamosa Volunteer SAR is responding to a call for an injured hiker in the area near Ellingwood Point and Lake Como Road. Please avoid the area for the next 24-48 hours to provide them space to do their job and help everyone stay safe.
Wishing the team good luck and hoping everyone gets home safe and sound. We do not deserve our SAR team heroes!
🚶Climbing San Luis Peak today! Here are some tips for safe 14er ascents:
1. Start early to avoid afternoon storms.
2. Stay hydrated and bring snacks.
3. Wear layers.
4. Inform someone of your plans.
5. Carry a map/GPS.
Why do we name things after old dead guys? I mean, Evans has a bad reputation and doesn't deserve a mountain named after him, but also Mount Blue Sky is a far better name the Mount Evans.
What other 14ers can we rename? I suppose Pike's Peak isn't so because of the alliteration. But Mount Sherman? Boring. Lets rename it to Mount Blucifer as Blucifer does protect us from the alien horde underneath DIA after all.
Great first 14ers of the season! Torreys and Grays in the bag.
Colin's first time out and was able to snag two in one trip!
Mountain goats were plentiful and sociable as always.
More in depth trip report

Hiked Torreys and Grays last week, quick route/trip report. Went up to Grays first, ended up hopping up to the CDT and following the ridgeline up to the summit. The standard switchbacks were still really snow covered so I’d say it was an easier route. Ended up putting our traction on for one section of the climb. Took the saddle back over to Torreys, the way down was super snowy, ended up glissading several times, was not envious of those who went Torreys first and had to climb there way up to Grays. Once we were at the low spot the snow thinned out and we were able to fly right up Torreys. Decent from Torreys was painless, threw out traction on to traverse the snow field and made it back to the main trail. GPX of the planed route and the actual, don’t mind the straight line from Torreys summit to the trail intersection, bumped my watch and wasn’t tracking that part of the descent. https://caltopo.com/m/7V17E [https://caltopo.com/m/7V17E]
