Founder of ICARS / Advisory Board Neuroclastic from London now in the USA. Trying to find my twitter friends and interesting new people to follow. Probably making plenty of mistakes as I learn Mastodon, all typos are my own.

Firstly, I'd just like to say thank you to all the people who have liked, boosted and commented on my images, and to all the new followers I have. It's rather humbling. 😊

Today's shot comes from a magical day in the Scottish #Highlands, a few years ago, when I was photographing red squirrels.

These charming characters are incredibly agile and can jump great distances between trees.

Here I managed to capture one as it appears to be flying down my lens.

Please remember likes/favourites are not useless here. They may not share posts with your followers (that’s what boosts are for).

Instead likes/favourites show the authors you appreciate what they’re saying or what they created.

Have you ever seen an oak tree dance?

Britain is full of 'lost' rainforests, predominantly in the southwest and northwest of England, western/northwestern parts of Wales and the west coast of Scotland. There are other areas where the conditions are perfect too, like this one in the Peak District National Park.

When the rain starts and the cloud base drops into the rainforest, the trees come alive. Everywhere you look, there is magic and mystery.

Wrote this yesterday.

The intro:

β€œPeople tell disabled people to get a job. But never

how to stay in one.

How or when to explain your disabilities without losing the ability to work.

For example, this is what happened when I worked In DC for an international agency.”

Many moons ago, I was the 1st Egyptologist on Twitter. I’m aware of how privileged I’ve been to study ancient Egypt & of my responsibility to share. Twitter helped make that possible. But the real potential of social networks is how much we can all learn from *each other*, from different voices & perspectives. We can marvel at monuments like the Great Pyramid, but I think that the communities that ordinary people build are even more impressive. I can’t wait to see what we build together here.
Been looking around working it out glad to be on #mastodonworld think I found the cool server.
Roll call: Present.
Staying on Twitter is like this season of the Crown. I know Diana's gonna die in that crash, but I can't stop watching.

#RIPTwitter - Well it's not dead yet...

However I'm less interested in the life/death of Twitter and much more interested in the surge on Mastodon...

...and the potential of the whole fediverse going forward. Not only is there a different sense of community here, but also there's a lot of opportunity to innovate on our own terms -- and THAT feels like a lot of fun to me.

I have to admit - I'm surprised by how vibrant this community is at such an early stage.

Tons of chat, tons of re-sharing content, and tons of mutual support.

It makes for a very relaxed and enjoyable Sunday evening. Big love to you all. β™₯️
