The Sideshow CharlatansWir haben mal diesen alten Kaffeekocher auf einem Antikmarkt gekauft. Er wurde mit Petroleum befeuert. Wenn genug Kaffee in der oberen Abteilung war, goss er von alleine den Kaffee in ein Gefäß, einfach weil der Schwerpunkt nach oben wanderte. Trotz etlicher Versuche schmeckte der Kaffee immer schlecht.
Wir haben jetzt eine Lampe daraus gebaut. Das Stromkabel läuft durch die Tülle in die Tasse und soll an die ursprüngliche Funktion erinnern.

You may have been aware of the green hydrogen & ammonia production facility, INNA, proposed for construction on the Chilean coast, very close to Paranal & Armazones, home to ESO's VLT, VLTI, VISTA, & ELT telescopes.
It posed an existential light & atmospheric pollution threat to those world-leading astronomical facilities.
Fortunately, the concerns of the scientific community have been heard & the project cancelled.
