@th those cables are not that easy to find anymore! I recently used Legacy-iOS-Kit to dump an old iPhone 4 I had lying around, good stuff.

@adipolak I'll go with the obvious answer - Python. It's just ridiculously easy for beginners, has the least amount of footguns, and allows many different avenues of exploration regardless of which type of programming you're doing
