I object
this whole leaving the house to drive thirty minutes to a second location to do work on a similar but separate computer and then returning home is bullshit and we should just not.
I'm actually a huge proponent of Ineffective Altruism, which is where just I post on social media about how I really wish you had more money / less diseases

PRO WRITER TIP: If your book wins an award in translation, be sure to publicly and enthusiastically thank your translator. Why? The folks giving the award did not read your words directly, they read the words of the translator. That translation must have been pretty good for the award to have been given.

Which is why now I am thanking Masayuki Uchida, the translator for the Japanese version of The Kaiju Preservation Society, which won a Seiun Award (Japanese SF award) today. Thank you, sir!

I feel, however, that I won't really have completely read the series until I've also read it in #HomericGreek.
I am loving the #Raksura books by #MarthaWells. I have read her Murderbot Stories (!!!) which put these on my list to check out. I slept on them for a while, mainly because there's always #TooManyBooks. I wish I hadn't.
The world feels genuinely unique (no earth history with serial numbers filed off here).
The world building unfolds naturally with minimal exposition.
Moon isn't as quirkily fun as Murderbot, but he is surely just as emotionally stupid.
Recommend! #fantasy #books #reading
The Anne Belle translation of The Fall of #IleRien by #MarthaWells has its moments.
