After 12+ years, I have finally updated my personal website's theme. I am happy to report that I can no longer make jokes about it being IE6 compatible.

I did another little project in #Godot , this time recreating https://hachyderm.io/@vnglst/111828811496422610 using some of @kenney 's assets. It's not quite right, I think I still have the vector math off by a little bit, but it's as close as I feel like getting right now.

Godot seems fine, I guess? The editor and API made sense. It had pretty much all of the simple things I wanted.
The only thing that really annoys me is the inspector's bool visualization. If a bool is true, "On" is redundant. If a bool is false, "On" is wrong!
I might actually make a PR to fix it.
I wanted to start learning Godot so I added some boids to the sample airplane project.

Good. Leave the industry and don't come back.
I got my Lancer Tactics swag in the mail today. Thanks @jovialthunder, I love this stuff!

Yarrow "Cadet" Pepper, my #Lancer PC.

Yarrow was a cadet in training to be a member of Albatross, an elite group of peacekeepers, until he realized that most of Albatross' job is PR for its supercorp supplier IPS-N. He ran away to the dying mining planet Havelberg, but is ready to leave that dustgrave-riddled planet to return to Cosmopolitan civilization. He hopes to find a new calling along the way, or at least a new callsign.

The one tool I'm currently working on requires me to write in:
Typescript (first time)
Javascript
HTML
CSS
SQL
Lua (first time for more than an afternoon)
C++
C#
protobuf (first time)
and I'm going to count bash, too (mostly git, grep, and sed)

I guess there's some lesson in here about learning fundamentals instead of languages? I wish I could screenshot my work desktop and set it up auto-reply to every /r/gamedev post asking which language to learn.

Saxyderms Summer Concert Series 2023 starts next Wednesday in the Boston Public Garden!
