aaaaand here's where we discover that mastodon hasn't mastered the art of thumbnailing. Looks like a naive centering algorithm. Perhaps finding points of interest on images cheaply could be done, then the thumbnails could be centered over those areas.

#introduction

Hi, I'm Yewnyx.

Long-time software engineer based out of California, got my start doing apps but over time crept my way into #vr #gamedev.

My significant contributions include Crunchyroll, Reddit, Facebook, and Oculus's apps or major technical infrastructure, and more recently (and most satisfyingly) some of the gameplay subsystems of Bonelab.

Off the clock, I spend my time in #VRChat, in Discord with friends, commissioning art, playing games, and teaching myself things.
