In past lives I used FileMaker Pro hard, and I loved it.

I need to create some new databases, and I'm looking for something that I can use with the data stored in the cloud or on a network, and web ui I can cutomize for browsing/admin and mobile apps I can design for data entry.

Thank you for suggestions on modern FMP alternatives for solo owners or very small teams? Free tiers sought as our usage is likely that small.

I am in the frustrating hell of trying to get approved by Goodstack, meanwhile TechSoup approves quickly for Slack.

Our new foundation really needs email set up and would like go use Google.

One of the next projects is an app to run on android tablets. For testing, can I buy the cheapest android tablet on Amazon? Or do I need to buy a certain level of quality or what do you recommend? I’ve never not owned an Apple device so I feel out of my element.

I feel like Final Cut Pro could be trying harder. I don't know how Activity Monitor works, but it makes it looks like my system isn't taxed by this export, and it says FCP is using around 103% of CPU. I know the GPU is involved, I guess that's why Acitivity Monitor makes it look underutilitzed. The timeline is 20 minutes, but this export is taking forever.

Didn’t iPad used to show a keypad for unlocking, with letters corresponding to the numbers? I remember my passcode alphanumerically, but I can’t type the letters here in iOS 26, so I have to figure out what numbers the letters go with, but the keypad that used to show me that is gone.

When I reboot my M3 MacBook Pro, it often stalls, then reboots and starts again. It can take several cycles before the reboot proceeds. It is so stressful. Will it boot?

Hey wet-winter ultrarunners, I’m looking for rain gear suggestion.
Normally shorter training runs I’m happy to wear merino and be wet for a couple hours. But this winter I want to be out for many hours on roads, I’m thinking a wide brimmed hat and jacket and pants could be cool.
