Dozens of Camp Mystic buildings removed from flood map in recent years, records show
Federal regulators repeatedly granted appeals to remove Camp Mystic’s buildings from their 100-year flood map, as the camp operated and expanded in a dangerous flood plain in the years before rushing waters swept away children and counselors. The Federal Emergency Management Agency included the prestigious camp for girls in a “Special Flood Hazard Area” in its National Flood Insurance map for Kerr County in 2011, which means it was required to have flood insurance and faced tighter regulation on any future construction projects. But in map amendments in 2013, 2019 and 2020, FEMA granted appeals to remove 30 Camp Mystic structures from the map. The amendments shielded buildings at the original site, as well as at a second camp site.
@tvaziri the older folks in my life seem to prefer the Roku remote to the Apple one. Whenever they’re at my home using my Apple TV, there’s confusion. Some amount of it is pure familiarity, but some is also the physical dimensions of each remote object and the finger dexterity required.

@512pixels I am seriously relying on you to test drive this somehow. Be the guinea pig. The part I’m wondering most about are the music library restrictions. Do I need to be sure to delete all my old iTunes Matched music from my secondary account?

@ismh86 great discussion of your iCloud trials. I’ve been through very similar things, also with 4 kids. I used to have my littlest use my legacy ID to share purchased apps, but I recently decided to change that and just cut ties with my old ID completely. I’ll have to re-buy some things, but with everything gradually shifting to subscriptions, it feels inevitable anyway.
