i find it a little strange how (in english) we talk about mental struggles through the language of injury. negative emotions are frequently described as painful, hurtful, or aching, despite having little to do with the feeling of physical pain (aside from being extremely unpleasant).

i don’t have some big point here, i just think it’s interesting to imagine a world where we talk about it differently. i wonder how our relationship to emotions might change given a different framing.

noticed the moon was very nicely framed in the branches of this tree yesterday. my phone’s digital zoom fucked up the picture but i still like the composition here

Stop KOSA

KOSA is a censorship bill that won’t make kids safe. Instead, it'll put all internet users at risk, especially youth. If you believe in a free and open internet, tell your lawmakers to reject #KOSA!

Most bigots don't use slurs.

But they will harass you for no reason.

They will disregard your boundaries.

They will sea lion you for info that is easy to find.

They will attempt to insult you but call it a 'joke' and blame you for being 'too sensitive.'

They will invite their friends to dogpile and flood your timeline with nonsense.

They will gaslight and try to make you believe what you're seeing/feeling isn't real.

But most will not use slurs because they know that's what most people are looking for.

Pay attention to behavior. Using slurs is just the tip of the tip of the iceberg when it comes to identifying hateful people.

i’m working on a writing project that follows 3 characters across various genres and writing styles. it’s been very fun to swap between the radically different worldviews and personalities to get into character.

i usually listen to different songs/albums on repeat while im writing a chapter to set the right mood. today’s song of choice is “Like Spinning Plates” by Radiohead. very eerie in the best way.

#introduction howdy :) i'm kaya! i make music, write, and study philosophy in my free time.

i love to talk about art and philosophy more than anything, and i love how chill this place is. everyone seems so lovely :)
