Ph.D. Chemist and #wine enthusiast researching the causes of #wineheadache
#Headache researchers credit a Roman encyclopedist, Aulus Cornelius Celsus, c. 25BC-50AD with making the first reference to #wine as a headache trigger. We figure by living for about 75 years, he must have been familiar with the positive health effects too.
We always start by recommending old world #wine. Our first respondent showed mild sensitivity for sulfite and tannin. Look for high acidity and low to moderate tannins in this case, Gamay, Barbera or Sangiovese.
Okay, let’s give this a shot. Our #wineheadache questionnaire, https://survey.zohopublic.com/zs/t8D3X9 from which we’ll return you some insight on what your trigger may be (polyphenols, sulfites or amines). My wife and I both show sensitivity to sulfites and are equally likely to get a headache from red or white #wine.
Tell us about your wine and food preferences

Your response would be greatly appreciated.

Would love to hear people share their experiences with #wineheadache. 1) Your ideas of what causes them and 2) How you avoid them. Despite them being more common from red #wine, my wife and I seem as likely to get them from red or white.
For those who experience headaches after drinking red #wine, I’ll be launching a questionnaire soon to help us understand your triggers and determine which #wine varietal might be more tolerable. #wineheadache
