I am a Brit and happily a #furry fellow.

I believe in digital rights in a digital age, to not be spied upon, to own media rather than merely rent it, and to be able to use software freely - be that for any purpose, to modify it, redistribute, etc.
Open-source is a gem of the digital age, like libraries and schools modernised the past.

I do also like anime, sci-fi (Stargate and Star Trek especially), and food!
Italian pastas, French cheeses and Indian curries!

@erice Terms like SD, HD, FHD, are cemented standards by VESA. I think it would be quite difficult to change them as-is, which is probably why we've ended up with people using terms like '2k' and '4k' rather than WQHD and QFHD since the obvious terms are all taken and aged.

So it turns out putting a 355w monster graphics card in my case has been a bit of a thermal blunder.
My poor low-rpm exhaust fans just can't keep the air moving. P(

@Shroud Isn't that one of the big reasons to push for UBI? It should shift the balance of power back towards people by preventing employers from holding you financially hostage.

@glassbottommeg Oh really? Care to elaborate? I've not been in the dev scene on that side for a while.

For me, I started up an old Windows VM, did some updates on it, etc. I opened up Microsoft Edge and it gave me an unskippable prompt to sign into my Microsoft account. I had to end process tree and restart Edge just to progress past it without signing into my personal account.

Everything integrated? It's a nightmare, not a benefit.
