This painting I finished a few months ago and I haven't painted anything this size or bigger ever since. This is only 8x10, but because I paint and draw tiny, to me this is a medium to large artwork. I really enjoyed this mixed media style and it looks better in person. It is painted with acrylic, then layered with oil pastels. Then varnished with cold wax medium and then the flowers got a layer of impasto with cold wax, mixed with oil paint. I love that some of it looks like it's made with crayons and it looks primitive because it is. I am definitely self taught, but I don't mind it one bit.
#armenia #armenian #smallpainting #smallartwork #artwork #wallart #oilpastels #mixedmedia #impasto #primitiveart #folkartThank you! š Do you mean you want to set up an Art-O-Mat or a free little art gallery? Either one or both in your tiny town is a great idea! Sometimes I donate free little art to FLAGS all around the US. But now I'm really excited about Art-O-Mat. But FLAG is where I started sharing my art in real life and it still holds a special place in my heart. I hope to get back to donating to FLAGS again.
When I found out about Art-O-Mat, I realized that this was a business I wanted to be a contributing artist to. I love the old cigarette machines turned into an art vending machine concept. And I figured it's a great way to physically get my art out there! So this is my first ever batch that I sent and that they've already received. It took me two months to finish and it's called Lucky Little Kitties. I only painted 50 and have already retired the design. So my next batch will be completely different because I get bored easily. This project was very time consuming, but a labor of love. I hope whoever buys one will enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed painting them.
Here's the making of one of my latest paintings, 'The Moment Before the Boop of Abundance'. I'm self taught so I just paint and struggle however I can in order to accomplish what I want in a painting. I don't follow anything to do with professionalism or academia because I don't know any other way of painting than figuring things out as I go. But I like being unskilled, self taught and messy.
