Image from a test roll. Pictured here, a rather gorgeous burst of color from a bachelor's button (Centaurea cyanus) in my front garden. Slow film + handheld + breezy day = blurry image, but beautiful to my eyes nevertheless.

A very good friend of mine had a surprise for me after we met for lunch yesterday: A box of cameras!
Among the items in the box was this minty Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta 531/2, a 6x9 medium format folder in its original case. Evidence suggests that this example was pre-war (likely 1938), but can't be certain. It's in outstanding condition, with light-tight bellows, and remarkably, a Compur shutter that still tests out as within tolerance. Amazing. Loaded with film and ready.

As a creative myself, like many others I have a lot of concerns about AI, ethics, rights, etc. That being said, playing with AI image generators appeals to my inner 7-year-old's sense of twisted humor.
