Its been another 3 weeks since I listened to a podcast. Social media has replaced that time but not having anyone's voice in my head is helping me write my newsletter faster, help me retain events of the week to recollect and lastly helps me cope with everything that unfolds in my personal life.

Update:

One more week gone by without listening to any podcast. Feel more alive and free to think about random things. In the process realised that I think too much about work. Next in the line of chopping block is social media for consumption.

Yesterday I wondered aloud why RSS readers look like email clients.

@brentsimmons replied. Turns out he borrowed that layout for NetNewsWire in 2002 — and twenty years later, he's asking why no one's tried something different.

That conversation became an essay. I built a visual version (with an ASCII fallback).

Phantom Obligation

Why RSS readers look like email clients, and what that's doing to us.

Update:

One week more and zero listening. My brain feels like mine and my thoughts are resting in it. No more distracted with what was said and chasing something new tangents all the time.

More intentional in everything I do and I am now able to factor time more reasonably.

Going to these cities as a corporate person is landing in a city, drinking beers and hunkered in hotel conference rooms. The more I do these, the less I am enjoying it.

I enjoy meeting my colleagues but would prefer it to be the only objective if I am travelling.

I went to San Diego but couldn’t explore much of the city before heading back home. The downtown of Glasslamp on a weekday was pretty deserted.
Trigger for this is a LinkendIn email push saying find out jobs that AI can’t replace.

This whole framing of AI replacing jobs is not accurate, IMHO. It’s a human being who is replacing other humans with AI.

Why credit agency to AI ?

Here is

I don’t know what was the reason behind Verizon outage. Waiting for @norootcause to explain it to me.

But I have already gotten 1 spam offering $20 credit with a link. Peeked at it in a meeting and would have fell for it if I hadn’t checked the number from which it was sent.
