While title emphasizes on the climate change, the underlying problem is that farmers in Araku don't have a functioning market of buyers who are looking to procure coffee. Naandi Foundation, which own the Araku coffee shops is one of the first in organising collectives and bring the Araku coffee to the masses.

Supply and demand curve is often attributed as a underlying principle for all trade. But time and again I have seen access to markets as the true proponent of trade in agriculture commodities.

Here is a report from my home state Andhra Pradesh and it's beautiful Araku Valley

@shibaprasad

Its a mix of both but it became a crutch to not have any downtime at one point of time. That's when things started to be overwhelming and something had to be done.

@shibaprasad I think I averaged around 7-10 hours which is why I was always feeling rushed with everything else.
Its been another 3 weeks since I listened to a podcast. Social media has replaced that time but not having anyone's voice in my head is helping me write my newsletter faster, help me retain events of the week to recollect and lastly helps me cope with everything that unfolds in my personal life.
@shibaprasad only way to know is people around you are laughing with you or at you. Often times it is latter.

Update:

One more week gone by without listening to any podcast. Feel more alive and free to think about random things. In the process realised that I think too much about work. Next in the line of chopping block is social media for consumption.

Yesterday I wondered aloud why RSS readers look like email clients.

@brentsimmons replied. Turns out he borrowed that layout for NetNewsWire in 2002 — and twenty years later, he's asking why no one's tried something different.

That conversation became an essay. I built a visual version (with an ASCII fallback).

Phantom Obligation

Why RSS readers look like email clients, and what that's doing to us.
