You are doing this despite his demonstrated contempt for you, despite his support for extremists -- and, as of today, his rank anti-semitism (effectively blaming Jews for his vile site's loss of advertising)

I know that you believe you get value from being "where the people are" -- but sometimes principle requires sacrifice.

So much is at stake.

Black Mastodon users are writing in frustration that people don’t believe that #racism exists on Mastodon. As a new moderator, I can assure you that racism is very real here. Be sure to report it when you find it so that we can stamp it out.

And please don’t tell people their experience isn’t real just because you didn’t witness it. Thanks.

Cosmopolitan and diverse, with elaborate mechanisms for adopting people into their communities and sacred obligations to host strangers, able to cooperate with other communities to achieve shared goals with few resources or conveniences at their disposal.

An observation on how #Mastodon is growing 👀

Over the past month, multiple journalists from top outlets have contacted me related to content I’ve shared.

While this was not uncommon on #Twitter when I was active there, it’s relatively new for me in the #fediverse. I suspect this suggests professional news outlets are becoming more comfortable here & posts have increasing impact. Good.
