Working to have a better understanding of ionograms - this one from today is the weirdest I’ve seen for a while. Guess because of the G1 storm?

Just got around to listening to this. Great story …

Morse code: Ready to transmit — The Documentary Podcast

The World Morse Code championships are fiendishly competitive. Contestants from many countries travel to Tunisia, where they face each other across tiny tapping machines in a competition hall silent but for the clicking. It is called High Speed Telegraphy - the skill and art of sending and receiving fast and accurately. The best practice three or four hours a day. Belarusians win almost every time, with stiff competition from Russia and Romania. But maybe this year it will be the Japanese or Kuwaiti competitors.

Interesting ai noise removal tool referred to in a blog post by @marxy . I tried using it on a very noisy CW link without much success but certainly worth more investigation. https://blog.marxy.org/2024/11/ai-noise-removal-from-off-air-single.html

The applications of AI (machine learning) to radio are fascinating me at the moment. This is a simple experiment where I recorded some SSB a...

Had quite a few interested visitors to the radio room of HMAS Vampire (VK2VMP) yesterday. Kids are particularly intrigued to hear their names in Morse. I have Morse-It running in the background most of the time ...
Pretty much finished my K3NG/K5BCQ keyer - just a few cosmetic things to tidy up (like knobs). Thanks for the PCB @vk2rh ! I almost always use the keyer in my radio when operating in the field but you can never have enough electronic keyers 😁
First experience soldering SMDs, my new VK3IL pressure paddle. Geez you need a frightening amount of heat from the heat gun to melt that solder paste! 😬
Breezy one on the cliff today (Malabar Headland National Park AU-1854/VKFF-1176) requiring guys on the vertical. Nice view though. Pleased with my 45 CW QSOs in about 90 mins. Thanks Hunters.
QRV as VK2VMP on HMAS Vampire 0300Z-0530Z Monday 17 June probably on 15/17/20m. I'll mostly be running FT8 as it makes having conversations with visitors a lot easier. May do some CW if there are some quiet times. https://www.qrz.com/db/VK2VMP

Had this paddle for about 6 months and it's let me down now a couple of times - misses dits and dahs. I’ve burnished the contacts but it only fixes the problem for a short period. I have a (now discontinued) Palm Pico which I love but I’d like a backup for #POTA and #WWFF work. Any recommendations?
