It's not some authentic just-folks small-town Mayberry life. It's a life of shitty, dangerous, disposable junk, foisted on these people by multinational corporations, and they're out defending every bit of it with their lives, like f'ing chumps.

Mark SumnerThere is no such thing as a “job creator.” There are employers, who hire employees, *because they need them*. And then employers pay the employees less than the value they generate. That’s the system. How did we get to the point at which people behave as if the wealthy are giving a gift to working people? I realize it’s not a new attitude, but it remains proudly f’d up.
Untitled Goose NameI keep seeing that “first they came for the journalists” sign, and it pisses me off so much, because when they came for muslims, immigrants, and trans people, mainstream journalists normalized it and reported it as “both sides”. Somehow it didn’t count for them until it was happening to them personally, which is *exactly* what the fucking poem was warning against in the first place.
