It doesn’t matter how you drive: whether fast or slow. What matters is this: do you want to arrive at your destination alive - or in a body bag? I prefer to arrive alive doing the speed limit. Although I will alter my speed if conditions are less than bare full width on the black top - especially during winter here in Canada.
