I am...
artist, asexual, cat person, engineer, non-binary, sewist (relative beginner), writer ... in alphabetical order because I didn't know which one has priority in terms of my identity.

I greet dogs before I greet the humans on the other end of the leash. (I sometimes forget to greet the humans.)

I am trapped under two cats
#cats
Cat cuddle pile! All four cats are with me on the couch. (The ginger tabby is my parents' cat, visiting for a couple of weeks; the other three are mine.)

Varied thrush eating the berries of the mountain ash tree outside my window.

My friends and I call them "referee bird" because their call sounds exactly like a fox40 whistle. To the point where search and rescue folks in their range have stories about being called out for someone blowing a whistle for help, only to find out it's just one of these birds.

(They are found predominantly west of the Rockies)

Snow day cuddles.

Work called a snow day today, which is good because there was more snow than forecast. And so I stay home, safe and cozy on the couch with cats and writing project.

A very rare snowfall has been going on all day here and it is so pretty!! I went out for a walk.

Silly cats.

The ginger kitty is my parents' cat, and he is a house guest for a couple of weeks. He and my three are good friends and they romp around and wrestle and zoom together a lot.

(I'm told that when he gets home after a visit he is very tired for a couple of days and also looks around for my cats.)

(It took a few visits for them to become friends, but my kitties are very gregarious and welcomed him as soon as he relaxed enough to accept the welcome.)

An excellent event

And I made the right choice for layers, with a medium weight mid layer for cutting down the holly trees and my warm wool sweater (brought in a plastic bag to keep it dry) that I could change into for snack break and wreath making. My wreath went on the door immediately, because I didn't want to risk one of the cats taking an exploratory nibble at the holly berries (which are poisonous to humans and I don't know how bad they are for cats but don't want to find out).

And as always the group overflowed the bin. (Photo is rather blurry because my phone was wearing its raincoat and the plastic over the camera may be clear but it's not optical quality. And also not quite lined up with the lens.)

Cat help is the best help
