Musk has used "Vox populi, Vox Dei" to justify reinstating Trump on #Twiiter. But the quote is from a letter from Alcuin to the Emporer Charlemagne urging him to resist such ideas, "Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit." Which translates as "And do not listen to those who keep saying, 'The voice of the people is the voice of God', because the tumult of the crowd is always close to madness."

Made the interesting decision to go hiking with a friend today. Not exactly a HUGE hike, but it had a surprising amount of uphill and a surprising amount of sand.

Also at least one snake.

But, y'know, the only casualties were the muscles in my legs, which are now on strike and reminding me how unfit I apparently am.

Got a pile of digital and 35mm shots though hiking up to an old gun emplacement looking out over the Pacific so... curious how they turn out.

Everybody's mad at journa.host right now, because they made a very bad moderation decision.

(backstory because in a year this'll be incomprehensible: journa.host was (maybe still is, but I'm betting was) a Mastodon server for journalists, set up by journalists, run by journalists, full of journalists, that went online in early November 2022 - at the time a LOT of servers were being started by people with no online community management experience, and this was no different)

Or, maybe, turn the two of them together into little episodic short interactive pieces? That might be interesting.

I'm unsure, because frankly web based IF doesn't seem to get much traction. I get a slow but long tail of the odd like or comment on my vampire story... but maybe cyberpunk will be different?

Who knows.

Anyway, that's what I'm doing this afternoon - and what I'm thinking about.

Now back to this hyper-sexual disenfranchised cop in a post-climate-change cyberpunk Miami...
