It has become clear to me that the worst thing I ever did for my career was accepting a high-level promotion. Unless your company is offering training and industry-recognized certifications, you are adding a title to your resume that cannot be backed up when looking for new jobs. The people who convinced you that you were the right fit for the promotion are not going to show up to your interviews after you are laid off. If I had never taken my last promo, I would likely still be working.

@jasontucker I rewatch every year and may be in the minority of folks who love the ending. Was always curious how the chronological edit would hit differently, considering how important the flashbacks were to the storytelling.
