So I picked up an SNES game from what is supposed to be a reputable retro game shop. Illusion of Gaia — a great game.

I get it home and it doesn’t boot. Shocker. I guess they don’t properly test the carts they sell.

I open it up to find the battery completely disconnected.

So I decide to finally put some old school skills to the test and de-solder what was there, and solder in a new battery.

And thank the vintage gaming gods, it worked!

Now to play.
