Because of the wonders of capitalism, you have to deal with three corporations to freeze your credit info -- which is one way you can mitigate your risk. Took me about 15 minutes (but I suspect I'll have to end up unsubscribing from bullshit emails from each of them).

Oregon DMV breached, and we are only told to “monitor our credit report.” A report, that we can only request for free once annually, from 3 “business” that essentially control the lives of the average citizen in America. Those same companies that have also had data breaches in recent years. Fuck capitalism and complicit governments.
