If I understand correctly... People from different instances follow each other which causes the Federated timeline to grow as new instances get incorporated. Does that sound right?
@zewm That's a conversation I'm having with someone else right now actually! If an instance shuts down or an admin disappears, there needs to be a way to migrate history/followers over to another instance. Here's to hoping someone has already started work on something like that... Right now all I see is a way to export/import the people you are following and the people you have blocked.
I love that I'm able to see more content in an unfiltered way from people I don't know. Twitter did this to an extent, but Mastodon makes it so much easier. I don't want suggestions or service-enforced curation, the rawness is refreshing.
