All together now: fuck systemd

First to tongue the boot when it comes to this age verification shit I see.

A small set of people are merging changes to various Linux components to make sure every application knows your birth date.

This is being done rapidly by people with questionable justifications and being merged with no youth and few marginalized people involved.

systemd, the base of most Linux systems, merged in the basics of an age verification system.

This is a massive fuck you to every queer child that the FOSS community cares more about money than user freedom.

Salty today.

RAM andd SSD prices... I fucking hate the AI industry so much. I need an 8TB 2.5" SSD and the cheapest I can find is $700. A 8TB Samsung 870 is __$1400__!!!!!!!!!!

Seven hundred fucking dollars for the cheapest one. This drive _SHOULD_ cost about $400.

In Dec 2025 a 4TB Samsung 990 PCIe 5 NVMe cos me $249. It's now $670.

64GB of G.Skill DDR5-6000 cost me $175, it now costs __$889__!

We discussed today that anyone wanting a node with 1TB of RAM is going to pay __$30,000__ just for the RAM.

Please pop this fucking bubble now... Rip the band-aid off.

I laughed harder than I should have at this:

BuildKit: Docker's Hidden Gem That Can Build Almost Anything

Most people know BuildKit as the thing that makes docker build fast. But BuildKit is a general-purpose build framework with a programmable architecture that can produce any artifact, not just container images. Here's how it works and how I used it to build Alpine APK packages.
