Most of my t-shirts are black t-shirts except for one very special t-shirt, which is my Good Black T-shirt.

A lot of pets will eat you if you die. The trick is finding ones that won’t expedite the process.

@stonebear2

I know what you mean. I feel a connection with my online friends. Some may say this is parasocial and call me a fool for taking a risk. I think the key is to set your expectations accordingly. I am prepared to take the risk to trust people online and irl and so far I have not been disappointed. No risk no gain.

a little known hack when you run out of black pepper is to season your starter with ants. call it antipasta
Me: *drinks tea*
Brain: Oh, nice, the drink of empires
Me: ok *drinks water*
Brain: What are you, a shill for Nestle?
Me: *sighs*
Brain: You know who else breathed? Hitler
It was a hell of a trick to convince us that crime and evil are one and the same
*applying moisturizer like its an eraser but none of the wrinkles are disappearing*

Countries aren’t consumer goods you pick and choose, in spite of what digital nomads and passport bros say. For the same reason that retired people in Singapore who could live a more luxurious life in culturally similar Malaysia, Thailand or Taiwan eventually go home, not to mention places that aren’t similar, it’s not reasonable to assume that everyone can or should move halfway across the world. Even if they figure out visa restrictions eventually, I think this conversation lacks nuance and understanding for things like language, social isolation, access to friends, family, support structures that you simply cannot put a dollar figure on.

Even if you’re the sort of person who doesn’t think they have any of that, just ‘knowing how things work’ and ‘being a default person where you are’ is a sort of privilege you’ll likely never get back, as an immigrant from anywhere to anywhere (maybe unless you went as a child).
