I have a design issue I can't quite settle on, mostly because it doesn't massively matter, but I would like to figure it out properly. So I'm going to run a couple of polls here to find out how people feel about it.

Namely, when displaying notifications, both the Mastodon web interface and Toot! have two different styles they use: Either a full post like on a normal timeline, or a sort of compact version shown embedded in the notification message.

The two are shown below:

Introducing: The Trend Zone.

This is an experimental new way to view the trending posts and links on a server, with a full-screen interface to present things in a more engaging way, and keeping track of what you have already seen. Somewhat inspired by TikTok, of all things.

I was working hard on this a year ago, but, the trending page ended up being too depressing to continue the work. I am currently waiting for the world to be a bit less horrible to get back to the project.

Toot v26.0 has been released!

https://toot.to/

This long-awaited update brings a UI refresh for iOS 26, and support for quote toots. Also, even device on older iOS versions get some of the UI improvements. There are many other smaller improvements and bug fixes as well, such as better support for filters. There might even be new mystery features?

A big thanks to everyone who helped out to beta test this release. Thanks to them, it is far more stable than it would have otherwise been!

Ok, I lied, ONE more feature build, 186. In my defence I was trying to fix a bug related to audio thumbnails, but ended up redoing how audio and video thumbnails look. I like them a lot more now.

Changes:
* Updated the look of video and audio thumbnails.
* Added one more silly font.

Here's an early sneak peek of what I've been working on lately. I think I've managed to at least figure out how to fix all the major problems I can predict with this, so it *should* just be a matter of doing all the work to get this fully functional.
This was what you guys were requesting, right.
I worry that I mad the reporting UI TOO MUCH FUN. Please don’t report users just to test this, no matter how bad their anime opinions are, even @halcy. He is trying his best.

I have just released an update for WaveFlower, a toy app I created some years ago:

https://apps.apple.com/fi/app/waveflower/id1145966102

This apps the origin of the music visualiser in Toot!. It uses the microphone instead, so you can sing to it, or play your favourite instrument, or just make weird noises at it. It will respond by drawing shapes based on the sound waveform. It can be pretty mesmerising!

‎WaveFlower

‎WaveFlower gives you a fun way to discover hidden shapes in sound. It will use your microphone to draw intricate shapes from the sound around you. Try it with music, your voice, or any other sounds you can think of!

Blessed version number.
